Building Better Opportunities - Opportunity Suffolk

Building Better Opportunities is funded by the Big Lottery Fund and the European Social Fund.

  • What is Opportunity Suffolk?
    We offer help to unemployed people to progress towards work. Opportunity Suffolk is managed by TCHC and Realise Futures is one of a group of partner organisations who deliver this contract.
  • Who can we help?
    • Adults aged 24 and over
    • Adults living within a 12 mile radius of Ipswich
    • Adults living in West Suffolk
    • Adults who have been unemployed for 2 or more consecutive years
  • Which areas in Suffolk do we cover?

    We cover Bury St Edmunds, Mildenhall, Newmarket, Haverhill, Sudbury, Stowmarket, Ipswich, Felixstowe, Woodbridge and surrounding areas.

  • What support do we offer?

    We offer one to one tailored support through:

    • The creation of CVs, covering letters and help to complete job applications
    • Help to find courses and training when needed (many courses are free if you are on certain benefits!)
    • Help with finding volunteering placements, work placements and paid employment
  • What else can we help with?
    • Help with action plans to help you to move closer towards your goals
    • Help to acquire necessary documents
    • Bus fares and some other costs to appointments with us can be paid, and appointments can take place in locations suitable for your needs
    • We can attend some courses or volunteering with you on the first day to help reduce stress and anxiety
  • How long can you be supported by us?

    The Opportunity Suffolk programme is funded through to September 2019. The length of time you can be supported by us will be determined by your needs.
