This two day (8 hour) course provides learners with an essential understanding of housekeeping roles within workplace settings. You will explore the importance of effective housekeeping, discover the wide range of jobs available in this sector, and develop the confidence and skills needed to apply for employment. The course includes a mix of classroom activities, discussions, and a visit to a local laundrette so you can see the job in action.
What will you do on this course?
Day One
- Look at the different types of housekeeping jobs, including cleaning and laundry roles
- Learn about basic safety, hygiene, and emergency procedures
- Think about your own transferable skills and how they fit into housekeeping work
- Take part in simple activities designed to boost your confidence
Day Two
- Visit a local laundrette to see real housekeeping tasks in action
- Try out practical and group activities that help build your understanding of the sector
- Have a chance to practise your interview skills so you feel more prepared when applying for jobs
Progression
After completing this course, you’ll be able to move on to a Level 2 Health and Safety at Work course. This is a one day accredited course that builds on what you’ve already learned and helps support your next steps into work or further training in the housekeeping or facilities sector.
