Learner Story: Climbing with Confidence

I joined RF in helping my daughter learn at school and how they teach at school. From that I got offered opportunities to join courses to better myself, and as one from school I was never into school at all and so I was a little bit daunted. From that I completed Level 1 and Level 2 Maths, as well as Level 1 English and I’m about to start Level 2 English. From this, this is what I wanted to, I needed this to get myself further into becoming a midwife which is my end goal, but to start that I needed English and Maths to get onto the Higher Diploma course, to be able to get onto the midwifery course. The impact of this in my life has been amazing, confidence has gone through the roof, my children are incredibly proud of me and every time there’s been some sort of recognition my children have jumped for joy, we’ve all cried with happiness, there’s been times when I was working on the computer my children would join in and start working with me and they would want to help me, revise with me. There were times when I had to go through this with my children and they learnt that mummy was learning, and it was a good thing and they wanted to learn with me. From now I will get on and do my English. I walked away from high school with nothing, hopefully one day, I will become a midwife and deliver lots of lovely babies.
